Hello...

My name's Deb, how lovely to meet you! I'm so glad you stopped by...

In November 2008 I made my first sock monkey (yep, that's him alright)....and as they say...the rest is history...

In February 2009, Sock It To Me! was born and my life used to consist of Teza by day (Good afternoon, you're speaking to Chaos Control & Crayon Girl, how may i help?) and monkey business by night.

It was very exciting but I left my home and reality for a crazy journey of enlightenment around Asia. So, here I am soaking up the sights and sounds of sunny Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and working for CLEO, the coolest mag ever. Thanks again for stopping by, sit back, relax and Happy Reading!

One woman's trash is another one's treasure

Hello sweetheart!

This is the weekend of inorganic rubbish collection in central Auckland. If I wasn't here to witness it I'd think the term would just cover things like old tires or broken appliances but on the contrary some people chuck out some seriously cool stuff because they can't be bothered selling it on trademe or donating it to an op-shop...So when I was on my way to meet my colleague Tory for a spot of Teza sampling at the Kohi Yacht Club this morning I spotted a red vintage suitcase outside a house on the junction of Ascot Ave, there was a car driving up the bum of my scooter so I couldn't stop. I did however vow to ride round after our sampling gig to see if it was still there and guess what...it was! It is so true that if something's meant to be yours it'll wait for you...the cool thing is, because I'm leaving in a few month this red suitcase isn't coming to leave with me...It's a gift for the gorgeous Tory bunny! She's awfully crafty too and the loveliest person to hang out with. Have a look at her blog for a spot of good old crafty goodness from your own Aunty Tory!

The things I do for the awesome people in my life eh?! You get the funniest looks from people when you have items in odd shapes or sizes precariously perched or attached to your scooter :P

Upon closer inspection I found that one of the metal snaps on the suitcase is broken...somewhat fixable I thought and I can always put it back out with the rest of the inorganic trash if it isn't but when I opened the suitcase and saw the inside...I knew it was a keeper!

Hope you've had a epic weekend my darlings!
xoxo
