Hello...

My name's Deb, how lovely to meet you! I'm so glad you stopped by...

In November 2008 I made my first sock monkey (yep, that's him alright)....and as they say...the rest is history...

In February 2009, Sock It To Me! was born and my life used to consist of Teza by day (Good afternoon, you're speaking to Chaos Control & Crayon Girl, how may i help?) and monkey business by night.

It was very exciting but I left my home and reality for a crazy journey of enlightenment around Asia. So, here I am soaking up the sights and sounds of sunny Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and working for CLEO, the coolest mag ever. Thanks again for stopping by, sit back, relax and Happy Reading!

xoxo Miss Deb

Go shorty, it's your birthday...we gonna party like it's your birthday...

Well actually it is...blush...i'm 24 today!

I thought i'd start posting up bits of the festivities...

So, some of the fun began yesterday as my sister and her husband were going to be real busy today, think they are going away for the long weekend. My sis sprained her ankle on Wednesday so lucky for me she had to cancel a business trip which would've made her absent on this auspicious day. She was convinced that i put a spell on her...hahaha! So she instructed my bro-in-law yesterday to make my 'birthday lunch'. It consisted of (made from scratch) barbeque pork and stir-fried red cabbage on rice. Yum!

In Asian terms, it is very rare that a bro-in-law (Chinese word for it is Che-Fu, not like the famous guy..think his name could be Che like Che Guavara tee hee hee) would do anything for a younger sibling so it was very sweet that Joe went through all the trouble.

They also got me some pretty roses for my desk!

Then early this morning..i got a call from my friend Sin How all the way in Brunei wishing me! You were officially the first one my dear! Teeheehee!

As soon as i got off the phone i wanted to open my first pressie! This arrived a few days ago...

But it said this...Jo know's me too well...

It so cool that Jo and I still keep in touch...i met her when i was still studying in Palmy. She's like a second mum to me and one of the coolest people i know!
Ta da!

It is the cutest dustdarling wristband made from a vintage tie! Unfortunately there isn't a website i can link to so if you're the maker of these beautiful wrist accessories please get in touch! The card was spot on too...i am ALWAYS complaining that the weekend is too short...even had this huge discussion with my flatmate the other day saying that i wouldn't mind working 6-7 day weeks if i got 3-4 days for the weekend. :P Thank you Jo!! Big hugs for both you and Tom.

So i was already at work when all this was happening and was in the middle of reading my emails when i suddenly hear my sister and Joe bellowing Happy Birthday down the corridor to my office! Cute...Joe had a big bouquet of lillies and my sister had made me a card. Flowers were actually from mum and dad and the card was from my sister and Joe.

So cute, she even made pink blinds for the window!

Close-up of the door and mail-box:

They got me...

Yeeyah! That's only like the best magazine on the planet! And i was just saying to Dean the other day that i should really just subscribe seeing as i virtually camp outside the bookshop a day before i know it's coming out! Thank you guys...i love you both truckloads!

Anyhoo lovelies...I'll post this up first but check back later, i'm sure there are lots more festivities to be had!

xoxo
